PAPERCUT Magazine - Burning Amber Gentle Doe

This is another assisting shoot that I did in the summer of 2012, again assisting with Russell. As you can probably tell by the previous shoots I have posted, I prefer to work in menswear and style on menswear shoots, so this was a chance to gain some experience in womenswear. This shoot, named 'Burning Amber, Gentle Doe' was published in Papercut Magazine in October 2012.

GT - Kirk Norcross

This is a shoot that I assisted on in February 2012. It was a cover shoot for the June 2012 issue of Gay Times. I worked alongside stylist Russell Philip Peek on this shoot with Kirk Norcross from 'The Only Way Is Essex'. I have more images in the printed version, but this is all I could find online at the moment. This was my first published assisting job so I was pretty happy with everything! :)

Despite not watching TOWIE, I couldn't resist getting a picture! And my little sister probably would have killed me if I hadn't (this was at the end of the shoot, do excuse me gross appearance!)

MERCY RULE - Good Right Hook.

Once again, apologies for the lack of posting recently. I've had quite a busy year of interning and styling shoots of my own, as well as assisting on a lot of shoots so I thought I'd give you all a look at some of the stuff I've been upto.
This first shoot is from a project I did at the end of my second year at uni. It was for a menswear style and sports magazine I produced and named 'Mercy Rule'.
This shoot took place in 'Islington Boxing Club' in North London and took more or less a whole day.

Mr Dorian Gray.

The second year of university did indeed get off on the wrong foot. The project that I have been focusing most of my time on this year is this little gem...
It's a styling project which we were put into pairs for and told to choose a trend from the S/S '12 catwalks to focus a styled shoot on. We then had to fit this in with a magazine title and use all the ethics of our chosen publication to lay it out in our portfolio.
So, our concept was based around the idea of Dorian Gray, the man everyone loves to hate, but secretly wants to be. Heritage and the 'Old English Gentleman' trend was featured a lot on the menswear catwalk, and although there was a fear of it looking the same as everything else that involves suits in menswear, we liked the concept and we stuck with it.
There's not much else to say other than we were incredibly happy with how the shoot came out, and the outcome of the layout. Other than that I'll let the images speak for themselves..

Recent Shoot.

I thought I'd post up some of the photos that I took from my last styling shoot.
The whole concept was based around the musical icon Frank Sinatra, at first I didn't want to copy the exact look but while putting the outfit together I realised that Sinatra's look was so iconic it would be a shame to move too much away from it. I styled in a way that would be aimed at an editorial for 'Fantastic Man' magazine as I saw a recent piece in there with David Walliams which I really took inspiration from.
These are just a few of the photos that I liked the best, obviously they are unedited but I thought I'd get some feedback from them.

I'll post the finish photo up in a week or so. The finish photograph will be going into an exhibition at the university and also into a book of photographs of musical icons which will be available to buy soon..!
